David Hess named chairman of IAE Board of Directors

FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW (July 9, 2012) – David Hess, president of Pratt & Whitney, has been named chairman of the IAE Board of Directors effective immediately.  Hess replaces Jim Guyette of Rolls-Royce in the chairman’s role. 

“Jim is a very highly respected industry leader and a colleague who brought a great deal of insight to our board meetings,” Hess noted. "Jim represented Rolls-Royce well and served the board with great dedication.”   

Steve Finger, past president of Pratt & Whitney, announced his retirement from the IAE board.  “Steve’s strategic guidance, leadership and forward thinking were instrumental over his many years at Pratt & Whitney.  We extend our best wishes to Steve and his family,” said Hess.

IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders comprise of Pratt & Whitney (NYSE: UTX), Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines. To date, more than 5,000 V2500 engines have been delivered and nearly 2,000 more engines are on order with close to 200 customers around the world.
