Clarification Statement on IAE Commercial Production
Oct. 21, 2011 – GLASTONBURY, Conn. – IAE today is clarifying its expectations on future production for the V2500 engine following a recent news report that mischaracterized the consortium’s plans.
Here are the realities of IAE’s future:
• IAE commercial production for the V2500 engine will continue for as long as customer demand for the A320 current generation family of aircraft exists, likely for decades to come.
• With a strong commitment to excellence in technical and customer support, IAE has more than 4,500 V2500 engines in service and nearly 2,000 more engines on order.
• IAE will compete for all orders for A320 current generation family of aircraft.
• IAE and Pratt & Whitney are confident the V2500 and PurePower PW1100G-JM engines satisfy all the current and future needs of our valued commercial customers.
IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium comprised of Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, the Japanese Aero Engines Corp. and MTU Aero Engines.
